Cannula Method for Cosmetic Injections & Dermal Fillers

“Gold Standard” Methods = Safe and Optimal Results

Here at Sculpt Aesthetics we administer dermal fillers and cosmetic injections using the cannula method to provide our clients with the safety they deserve and the results they desire. All of our injections are performed by licensed and experienced Healthcare professionals who utilize a keen aesthetic eye and exacting skill to enhance and craft our clients’ beauty objectives. Whether the goal is restoring lost volume in the face, reducing the appearance of wrinkles or adding volume to the lips, our injectors supply safe and stellar results.

We utilize the latest technology and injection techniques including cannulas for cosmetic fillers. These instruments provide safer results including less bruising, less swelling, less downtime, and greater comfort for our clientele.

Cannula vs. Sharp Tipped Needles

Unlike traditional needles used for injectable fillers, the cannula contains a blunt end that is rounded, as well as a longer and flexible body. Because a needle cannot discern what it is going through, it can pierce through anything in the skin including blood vessels which accounts for excessive post-procedure bruising and swelling or even more serious complications.

Utilizing a cannula, the experienced injector can feel each structure as it is being passed through. When resistance is met, the injector is able to find an alternate clear path through the anatomic structures of the skin. This increased maneuverability allows for greater precision and for the procedure to be performed quickly and painlessly without causing unnecessary damage. The risk of damaging small blood vessels is greatly reduced when using a cannula.

Another benefit that cannulas provide is due to their longer size, multiple areas can be accessed from a single-entry point rather than puncturing the skin multiple times with a needle. The entry point is small and shallow, and the cannula is then carefully inserted and guided under the skin to reach the sites for filler injection. This results in less trauma to the skin, uniform distribution of the dermal filler and greater comfort to the patient.

Cannula Technique Advantages:

  • Flexibility of device results in greater maneuverability
  • Increased maneuverability = greater precision
  • Easy insertion and less penetration force
  • Less bruising
  • Less swelling
  • Significant reduction in pain and discomfort
  • Minimized downtime following the procedure
  • Less risk of trauma and damage to the tissues
  • More effective and precise injection of fillers through single entry point
  • Smoother, more uniform results
  • Stimulates new collagen production

This advanced cosmetic injection technique drastically reduces downtime associated with dermal filler injections. As with any treatment, choosing an experienced and qualified injector is key to getting natural and attractive results that enhance your face.
